Bob spent his growing up years in Nova Scotia. He left Canada to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from which he graduated with a B.Sc. in Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1967. Aviation became his chosen profession. Bob joined United Airlines as a pilot. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for six years, on leave from United. But the remainder of his career was spent flying commercial airplanes all over the United States, Europe and Asia.

During his career, photography was always a passion. But during the last decade, Bob has studied extensively through photo workshops and personal projects.  The frequent flights to  Japan and Bangkok provided much of the imagery that grace these pages. After his retirement from United in 2003, Bob focused on studio and location photography in the Santa Fe area.

But aviation beckoned again. Bob now works part time for the Boeing Commercial Aircraft Company, helping to design the flight decks of future aircraft. He and his wife, Irma, two cats, Ginger and Merlin, and Newfoundland, Riley, all share their time between Whidbey Island, Washington, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. He continues to pursue his photographic vision in these beautiful and artistically supporting locations.
